Going to use the information found on the official safety data sheet for each of these products., The first clue that you have when it comes to assessing the toxicity of any pesticide is the EPA assigned signal word.

. Each of these products has the same signal: world posted on the label, and that is’Caution. & # 39. That immediately tells you that the EPA considers each of these products to have at least a minimal level of short term toxicity.

. Let’s. Look at the specifics of each product.. First, at Terro, the terro product on the safety data sheet page seven for this product we’ll, see a chart which discloses whether or not it contains any known carcinogens.

. If you look at that chart, you & # 39, ll, see that the Terro Carpenter, Ant and Termite Killer does contain two known carcinogens., Permethrin and Neopynamin.. Those are listed respectively by OSHA and the International Agency for Research on Cancer.

Fun fact. This is the most popular termite spray purchased by people who are going to leave their home to their ex. ????. The other two products here Spectracide and the Bayer product. – Do not list any currently known carcinogens.

. However, looking specifically at Bayer you’ll, see the active ingredient listed on the safety data sheet is Deltamethrin.. Deltamethrin is a neurotoxin, meaning that it is designed to attack the nervous system to cause paralysis and eventually death in an organism.

. Looking at page one of the safety data sheet for the Bayer Carpetner Ant and Termite Killer, you’ll, see this warning regarding long term. Health effects which reads & quot This product or its components may have long term chronic health effects.

????????????????. Lastly, looking specifically at the Spectracide product., The Spectracide product contains Lambda-cyhalothrin and Prallethrin. Lambda-Cyhalothrin is a neurotoxin.. The toxicity of Lambda-cyhalothrin can fluctuate and is actually affected by temperature.

Kinda, like a moody, mother-in-law.. Well, the EPA does consider it moderately toxic if inhaled or if it comes in contact with your eye.???? Prallethrin. Also found in Spectracide is not a neurotoxin, but it is very toxic to ???? and ????????????.

. In short, all three of these products do pose a minimal amount of risk of toxicity.. In fairness to all of them. The EPA would not allow you to purchase and use them if it believed that, when used as directed it posed a significant risk to you or to the environment.

. However, when they are not used as directed when you don & # 39, t know how to apply them, they can pose a risk greater than what you expect.. Ultimately, it’s up to you to decide whether you want to accept the risks of using these products at home, OR you could just ???? us.
